Flash versus HTML5

The virtual world is buzzing with chatter that HTML 5 will replace Adobe Flex. Well, lots of techies have already shared their notions on this topic and declared that the HTML5 will not leave much impact on the utility of Adobe’s Flex, Flash, Microsoft’s Silver light, and Oracle’s JavaFX but there are some logics that are indicating the decline of these iconic software tools.  Noticeably, the latest version of HTML5 will include the option to include audio and video elements that means the website managers will be able to upload rich media files directly in the browsers. Moreover, there will be Canvas element, which will allow inclusion of images and vector-graphics, which is currently possible with JavaScript.  So, the idea that HTML5 will harm flex or not is still under clouds.

Add/Remove tile from panel at runtime

I have 3 tiles

 

     MenuTile - Flex Menu

     Tile1 - Flex module

     Tile2 - HTML

 

In my catalog I have a PanelClass that has the MenuTile and Tile1 as TileReferences, where by including the PanelClass as view:PanelReference in my composite application.

 

Simply I want to be able to select a button on the menu button and either show or remove one of the tiles.

When uncommented I get a correct count of all tiles in the catalog.  Additionally I get the correct count of tiles in the panel before I add the 3rd.  I don't get and error but I also don't see the 3rd tile added to the panel.

 

Some help with this would be appreciated.

Still MISSING tab for Display/Hardware Acceleration for Flash Player Beta 11.6.102.137.

Still MISSING tab for Display/Hardware Acceleration for Flash Player after attempting to download the Latest Flash Player Beta 11.6.102.137 which has Fix #3365321 - "Window 8 Only: Fixes an issue where the Display/Hardware Acceleration tab was missing from the flash Player".  Current OS - Windows 8 Pro (64 bit), Browser: Internet Explorer.  Following the Forum discussions, tried to download the newest Flash Player Beta 11.6.102.137, but the Download was STOPPED and pop-up message read "Latest version of Flash Player already installed".  How do I get a seperate PATH to just FIX the MISSING tab for Display/Hardware Acceleration in Flash Player settings??

I created a catalog within the catalog folder for the workspace, the same place the Default.cxml is. I created a library for service interfaces and a library for service implementations following the instructions at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/enterpriseplatform/10.0/AEPDeveloperGuide/ WSabb771403789c7a3-31e63d5312fb7375fac-8000.html#WSe851854fd1e0856a3ad f5f4513046ea7dc4-7ffe. When I use the annotations described my service interfaces and interface library are added automatically.

 

When I deploy my catalog there are no errors. I use CRXDE Lite and go to /content/mosaic/catalogs/[my catalog name] and I can see my interfaces and service classes in there.

 

I create a new Flex Project for ADEP Experience Services and selected the catalog I created. Within there I create a new stylesheet in the styleSheets package and it is created at [project]/src/styleSheets/[stylesheet name].I right clicked on the style sheet and selected "Compile CSS to SWF". My style sheet is added to the catalog automatically.

 

I try to deploy the catalog at this point and it give me the error, "Cannot find the following asset(s) referenced in the catalog: " and then it lists my stylesheet.

 

Has anyone had this problem and have an idea of what hole I am falling into?

How can my customers know if they can trust a signature?

As a short introduction, I work for a major Dutch company for production and supply of electrical energy and gaz to 2 million Dutch homes and companies. My company aims to go digital with all customer communication including invoices. For our online invoices we already sign them digitally and there comes the problem.


I stumbled upon a problem viewing a pdf invoice, which said “the signature is problematic”. I first thought there was a problem with the certificate, but after reading your column and some discussion with colleagues, I discovered this behavior is “as designed” by Adobe, when reading this blog:

From a technical point I can understand the point of view, as explained in the blog mentioned above, but …

 

This means that if our customers notice the text “this signature is problematic” they may think something is wrong with the invoice. This may result in expensive calls to our helpdesk and difficult discussions, because it is hard to explain what really happens and why this happens. Or, worse, they may see this message on many invoices and just ignore it  because they get used to it. Then they may miss a situation with a forged certificate and not respond accordingly.

The three “solutions” provided in the blog  are not real solutions for the problem. Essentially, Adobe Reader tells our customers that they should find out for themselves somehow that if they want to trust our digital signature or not. When customers decide to trust the signature, they are told that it is not recommended tot decide to trust signatures.


So, this breaks the chain of trust and with it the system of certification. The customer is left on is own, as in the days of paper only invoices. I really cannot believe it really works like this. Dis I miss something? I think there must be a possibility to verify the signature using an online connection with a trusted partner.

 

Can anyone give me advice how to proceed? I really need a solution that does NOT confuse or mislead out customers.

Not able to open a right enabled document

I've done a turnkey installation of ALCRM ES3. I'm able to apply policies to documents. However when I'm trying to open a right enabled pdf with Acrobat X Pro, I'm getting the following error:

 

Server has denied access to this application. Ask your administrator for the appropriate application/platform/version to use.

Removing image overlapping over text boxes in InDesign?

I am importing an image without a background and when it prints, you can see where the image has been placed over the text box. How can I prevent this to allow it to look natural?

 

I am submitting a quote in a grey box. When I insert the speech mark image, the PDF looks ok but when I print the addition on top has appeared.

Username and password do not match

Is there a file I can edit to reset the username and password?

Differences between mosaic-pkg-2.0.82.zip and mosaic-debug-pkg-2.0.0.82.zip

I'm working to move our first CAF catalog and applications to our test servers however things don't appear to be working properly.

 

- when I go to http://servername:4502/mosaic/applications/#/APPLICATION, the default mosaic login screen loads and not the one I have specified in /libs/mosaic/components/index/index.jsp

 

- once I login, the tile begins to load but fails with the following error: "Error #2032: Stream Error URL: http://servername:4502/mosaic/catalogs/CATALOG/tiles/TILENAME/framewor k_4.5.0.20967.swf

 

Here's the few things that I noticed using the browser Network monitor:

 

- The browser makes a GET for my custom mosaic login screen and it gets it!...however it has an HTTP Status 304, Not Modified?

 

- The production version of mosaic is looking for framework_4.5.0.20967.swf in /content/mosaic/viewer/flex_sdks/flex_sdk_4.5.0.20967 HOWEVER the production mosaic package puts swz files in /content/mosaic/viewer/flex_sdks/flex_sdk_4.5.0.20967 !!! How does one go about fixing this?

 

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

How can I convert my Flash website to a HTML5 website?

I want my  website (Inspection tool) converted to a HTML5 so it can be seen on iPhone, iPad and new Android mobile phones. I know there is a tool from Google but it does not solve my problem as i am not an expert on building websites. I also know there are some companies that offer Flash to HTML5 conversion for websites. Does Adobe offer anything of this sort?

share point connector CQ5.5 issue

Hi All,

 

I am using CQ 5.5 and want to set up the share point connection from CQ. Could you please share if you have any docs?

 

I checked

http://dev.day.com/docs/en/crx/connectors/sharepoint/current.html

 

But it is not giving any docs for CQ 5.5. However i installed the packages and able to see the OSGI configuaration for sharepoint connector and given the sharepoint workspace. But nothing turned up

 

Where I will give Share point credentials for mounting the virtual repositories?

 

we are using sharepoint form authentication.

Hello,

 

I am getting into all sorts of trouble. I have no coding knowledge and have designed a site in Muse which is a portfolio site - About me/My Projects etc. I have just bought BC eCommerce because I wanted to add to the site:

 

Membership Form to Secure area which is paid for OR free with a downloadable pdf product, essentially an

eBook.

 

I want to create a form that records customer details and has a radio button that performs 3 actions:

Send me FREE chapter

Buy Membership

Buy Masterclass (with free membership)

 

I then want these radio buttons to reflect the price at the bottom of the form.

 

Click a Buy Now button and get sent to a payment form.

 

I can do this with an outside company easily but now I have signed up with BC I need to use the CRM facility and payment tracking etc. I didn't think I needed code!!!

 

I tried to use BC templates but found I couldn't delete the dummy logos etc - only change the text. I would like to use aBC template with a footer showing blog feed, News and Secure log in form and a header with socila network buttons on. I thought if I had a template with these I could then sit my Muse pages on top. Is this possible?
